Garden Studio

This garden studio was built for an artist. It is basically the meeting of two building types a Chapel and a Barn. The ‘Barn’ is on a raised platform with exposed trusses. The double doors, the round stained glass window and the porch over the ‘Chapel’ entrance have all been reclaimed. The shed is fully insulated with a brick wood burner. The interior is a work in progress.

Legacy Bench

This Green oak bench is built under an oak grove on private land. It is a shelter for contemplation and appreciation.

The Garden Cabin

A Garden Cabin with a bridge conecting it to a green oak gazebo I built the year before. It is situated on an old quarry and is designed to make the most of the beautiful views down the Dee river valley looking towards Llangollen and its castle. The cabin has a flat rubber roof and is fully insulated. I made the two fixed oak double glazed windows with a shadow line detail so that it would look simple and modern.

The Dread Shed

I wanted this shed to be as simple and exciting as possible. It is basically a 2m x 4.5m box with a few thrills.

Oak Gazebo

This Gazebo was constructed on an old quarry to make the most of the wonderful view. It was built from green oak and roofed with red cedar shingles.

Carrog Deck

I built this deck using English Larch for the decking, posts and balustrading. The balustrading is at a low height so that it could be used as seating.

Llangollen Museum

An interior reconstruction of the near by Valle Crucis Abbey's Chapter House for the Llangollen Museum. The project transformed a wedge like space into a medieval interior.




Trawsfynydd

The client was keen that the new verandah should be in keeping with the Edwardian house. Key to the design's success were the brackets which were both simple and modern but also recalled the earlier Edwardian period.
